CNUSD has officially confirmed the 2026 California Distinguished Schools designation for three Eastvale schools:

While ERHS celebrates its Distinguished School designation, the community is still navigating the fallout from multiple criminal cases involving former staff:

Amanda Leigh Quinonez — former ERHS language arts teacher and water polo coach, arrested April 2022 and ordered to stand trial on felony counts of lewd acts with a minor, oral copulation of a child, and distributing explicit material to a minor. Case remains ongoing.

Chad Costello — former ERHS theater teacher, arrested November 2023 on charges of child annoyance and sexual battery following a special victims investigation that began in April 2023. Case ongoing.

Dr. Greg Anderson — former ERHS principal, arrested February 2024 on suspicion of violating mandatory reporter laws in connection with the Costello investigation. The CNUSD placed Anderson on administrative leave. Case ongoing.

The Corona-Norco Unified School District has issued its Family Voice & School Experience Survey for the 2026–2027 school year. Michael David Coberg, 44, Eastvale resident and former LASD deputy, was sentenced to 63 months in federal prison and ordered to pay $127,000 in restitution for conspiracy to commit extortion and conspiracy against rights — connected to the crypto "Godfather" Adam Iza scheme.

Scott Allen Simpkins, 34, a Brea-based LASD deputy, separately pleaded guilty to one count of obstruction of justice for lying to FBI agents about witnessing Iza extort $25,000 from a victim. His sentencing is scheduled for July 13.
