The Eastvale Public Safety Commission held its regular meeting Tuesday evening. Official minutes will be posted to eastvaleca.gov once available. Retail theft and traffic calming have been recurring discussion topics this quarter.

Michael David Coberg, 44, Eastvale resident and former LASD deputy, was sentenced to 63 months in federal prison and ordered to pay $127,000 in restitution for conspiracy to commit extortion and conspiracy against rights. He moonlighted as a paid enforcer for crypto "Godfather" Adam Iza at $20,000/month, coercing a $127,000 transfer at gunpoint and helping stage a false drug arrest in Paramount.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff's Station Eastvale Special Enforcement Team wrapped a major organized retail theft investigation tied to a January theft on the 12000 block of Limonite Avenue. Sandra Flores, 46, of West Covina was identified as the key fence — $24,000 in stolen cosmetics and designer goods were recovered at her home on March 16. The DA's office will review charges of organized retail theft, criminal profiteering, and receiving stolen property.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Lake Elsinore Station will be conducting DUI saturation patrols on Thursday, March 26. If you're heading south out of Eastvale tomorrow evening, plan ahead and designate a sober driver.
