Eastvale Resident & Ex-LASD Deputy Sentenced to 63 Months in Federal Prison

Michael David Coberg, 44, an Eastvale resident and former LASD deputy and helicopter pilot, was sentenced Monday to 63 months in federal prison. Judge Percy Anderson also ordered him to pay $127,000 in restitution.

Coberg pleaded guilty in September 2025 to conspiracy to commit extortion and conspiracy against rights. He moonlighted as a paid enforcer for Adam Iza, 25 — a self-proclaimed crypto "Godfather" — earning at least $20,000/month.

He used his badge to coerce a victim into transferring $127,000 at gunpoint and helped stage a false drug arrest in Paramount. The LASD confirmed he separated from the department on September 4, 2025.
