On January 25, Jurupa Valley Sheriff's Station deputies and the Eastvale Special Enforcement Team began investigating a $3,000 theft from a business in the 12000 block of Limonite Avenue. The investigation revealed it was part of a larger organized retail theft operation.

Deputies identified Sandra Flores, 46, of West Covina as a suspect purchasing stolen merchandise from individuals committing thefts in the area. On March 16, a search warrant was served at her home in the 800 block of Sunset Avenue in West Covina — where approximately $24,000 in stolen merchandise, including designer cosmetics and perfumes, was recovered.

The case will be submitted to the District Attorney's Office with requests to file charges of organized retail theft, criminal profiteering, and receiving stolen property.

Michael David Coberg, 44, an Eastvale resident and former LASD deputy and helicopter pilot, was sentenced to 63 months in federal prison and ordered to pay $127,000 in restitution.

Coberg pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit extortion and conspiracy against rights, moonlighting as a paid enforcer for crypto "Godfather" Adam Iza at $20,000/month. He used his badge to coerce a $127,000 transfer at gunpoint and helped stage a false drug arrest. The LASD confirmed his separation from the department on September 4, 2025.

The I-10 Westbound connector to Southbound I-5 is closed nightly from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, Monday through Friday, through March 20. Plan alternate routes for late-night travel.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Office, Jurupa Valley Station will be out Friday, March 20 from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM looking for impaired drivers in the Eastvale area. Plan ahead and designate a sober driver.
